“Weather Modification Operations (OMC) continue to be optimized to take advantage of developing rain clouds, in line with forecasts that the rainy season will begin spreading more widely in mid-to-late October 2026,” Teddy said.
Teddy emphasized that Prabowo remains committed to extinguishing the fires and strengthening disaster response efforts across Indonesia.
“The President has called for forest and land fire management efforts to be strengthened, with all available resources deployed optimally to accelerate firefighting and prevent the fires from spreading,” he concluded.
Officials attending the meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta included Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya; State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi; Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Dudung Abdurachman; Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin; Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto; National Police Chief Gen. Suyudi Ario Seto; Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Sugiono; and Forestry Ministry Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation Prof. Satyawan Pudyatmoko.
