HOLOPIS.COM, JAKARTA – The Indonesian military has denied allegations that it acted improperly by deploying armed personnel to guard the residence of Febrie Adriansyah, Indonesia’s Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes.
“The security deployment was carried out at the request of the Attorney General’s Office and was coordinated in accordance with applicable procedures and Presidential Regulation No. 66 of 2025, which provides protection for prosecutors in the performance of their duties,” Indonesian Military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Muhammad Nas said, Holopis.com reported, Thursday (9/7).
Nas dismissed speculation linking the deployment to an ongoing police investigation involving searches conducted by Indonesia’s National Police and the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
He said the military’s security assignment was unrelated to the police operation, describing the two matters as separate processes handled by different institutions.
“The security measures are not related to the issues currently circulating. Reports regarding police searches at several locations are part of a separate legal process under the authority of the National Police,” he said.
On Tuesday, dozens of Indonesian military personnel were seen guarding Febrie Adriansyah’s residence in the Kebayoran Baru district of South Jakarta.
Road access in front of the property was temporarily restricted with traffic barriers, while several military vehicles were stationed in the area.
