High Public Interest Ahead of Independence Day
The more than 336,000 registrations highlight strong public interest in celebrating Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day directly at the Presidential Palace complex. From the initial capacity of around 5,500 people, the government has added approximately 3,400 slots, while participants will be accommodated through morning and afternoon sessions.
The selection process will also take previous attendance into account, with priority given to those who have never participated in an Independence Day ceremony at the palace.
Through the arrangement, the government hopes more Indonesians will have the opportunity to witness the commemoration of the Proclamation of Independence at the Presidential Palace on Aug. 17, 2026.
