HOLOPIS.COM, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the Jakarta residence of Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) board member Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi on Tuesday as part of an investigation into an alleged bribery scheme involving government audit reports.
“Investigators searched Mr. Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi’s residence today and seized several electronic devices as evidence,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said, Holopis.com reported, Wednesday (15/7).
Prasetyo said investigators have not confirmed reports that US$6,000 in cash was also confiscated during the search.
“So far, the evidence secured consists of electronic devices,” he said.
According to the KPK, the electronic evidence will be examined to support the ongoing investigation into alleged bribery involving audit reports issued by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for Muara Enim Regency in South Sumatra.
The agency said the search was conducted to gather additional evidence and that the possibility of questioning Bobby remains open. The investigation follows earlier findings suggesting that officials at BPK’s headquarters may have intervened to alter the audit opinion for Muara Enim Regency.
Investigators allege the audit result was upgraded from qualified opinion to unqualified opinion, Indonesia’s highest audit rating, following alleged interference.
The suspected intervention came to light after KPK investigators searched the BPK South Sumatra Representative Office in June. KPK suspects senior officials at the national audit agency may have been involved in the alleged bribery scheme.
Several suspects have already been named in the case, including BPK civil servant Titin Rita Lestari, businessman Augusz Dewanggara, Muara Enim Regent Edison, PT Millennium Solusi Abadi (MSA) marketing executive Cory Erin Hardi, and the company’s director, Fika.
Investigators noted that Augusz Dewanggara previously served as an adviser when Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi was a member of Indonesia’s House of Representatives. KPK said it will continue investigating the possible involvement of other individuals, including Bobby, as the corruption probe progresses.
