“Therefore, this roadmap aims to create a banking industry that is increasingly healthy, resilient, innovative, and competitive, while enhancing its contribution to national economic growth,” Dian said.
Dian said the future dynamics of the banking industry would not be determined by economic conditions alone. Geopolitical developments, technological changes, environmental concerns, business model transformation, and growing sustainability requirements will also shape the industry’s direction.
Changes in consumer behavior are another factor that banks need to address. Rapid technological developments are continuously changing demand for financial services while increasing expectations for innovation and consumer protection.
Amid these developments, OJK said the banking industry needs a development framework that can maintain the sector’s health and resilience while creating room for innovation.
The RP3I is therefore positioned as one of the instruments to guide the industry’s transformation while keeping it aligned with national development priorities.
