“Whenever it is needed, there is no problem. So don’t wait until the month is over and suddenly the supplies have run out. Our teams are at the posts 24 hours a day,” Amran said.
6,000 Tons of Rice Already Sent to NTT
As of Aug. 20, 2026, the government had sent approximately 6,000 tons of rice to support disaster-affected communities in NTT.
In Manggarai Regency, another 15 tons of rice were distributed on Thursday (Aug. 20). The assistance was prepared to meet residents’ immediate needs and can be increased if conditions require additional supplies.
The food distribution is part of the government’s efforts to maintain access to basic necessities during the post-disaster recovery period.
The assistance is expected to ease some of the burden on affected families, particularly as some residents continue using their available resources to repair homes, restore livelihoods, and resume their daily activities.
With sufficient rice reserves and continued distribution adjusted to conditions on the ground, the government said ensuring food security for disaster-affected communities in NTT remains a priority throughout the recovery process.
