HOLOPIS.COM, JAKARTA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has called on the country’s military and police to remain professional, uphold integrity, and place national interests above institutional loyalty.
“The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) are two vital institutions for the survival of the nation. They must remain strong and professional,” Prabowo said, Holopis.com, reported, Wednesday (22/7).
The president delivered the remarks during the 2026 Military and Police Officer Commissioning Ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Prabowo urged members of the TNI and Polri to avoid narrow institutional loyalties, emphasizing that their ultimate duty is to serve the Indonesian people and safeguard the nation.
“The TNI and Polri must work together to protect Indonesia. There must be no narrow esprit de corps or institutional loyalty,” he said.
The president also stressed the importance of integrity, particularly among newly commissioned officers, warning them not to abuse their positions for personal gain. He cautioned officers against corruption, abuse of authority, narcotics, gambling, and any other violations of the law.
“Integrity is the honor of an officer. Never misuse your position. Never be tempted by corruption or abuse of power. Never compromise with drugs, gambling, or any other illegal activity,” Prabowo said.
He added that public trust is inseparable from ethical conduct.
“The moment you betray the people is the moment you lose your honor,” the president said.
