“Our goal is not simply to close accounts, but to change the ecosystem. We want digital platforms to take responsibility for the spaces they create because Indonesian children have the right to grow alongside technology without losing a safe childhood,” he said.
Strengthening Government Data Integration
Komdigi is also continuing to develop and utilize the National Data Center as part of efforts to strengthen the government’s digital ecosystem.
Data integration across ministries and government agencies is being carried out through the Government Services Connectivity System (SPLP).
One implementation can be seen in the integration of the Digital Social Protection Portal, which is designed to accelerate the verification of social assistance recipient data.
Ismail said the use of technology and integrated data is expected to make government services more targeted while supporting a fairer distribution of social assistance.
These agendas form part of Komdigi’s 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, which is built around three pillars: Connected, Growing, and Protected.
The three pillars serve as the foundation for strengthening Indonesia’s digital sovereignty while ensuring that technological transformation delivers tangible benefits to society.
In the digital era, therefore, the spirit of independence is not only about freedom from physical colonialism, but also about Indonesia’s ability to master technology, protect its data and information, and ensure that its digital space remains safe for its people.
